A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAPTER PRESIDENT
Dear Fellow Music Lover,
I wanted to let you know how much The Silver Statesmen Chorus has missed seeing you and singing for you over this past year! The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly thrown a monumental wrench into our plans. Normally, we would have sung for you at our annual Spring Concert, performed for numerous groups around the community, and competed at our division and district contests. We don’t yet know exactly when (soon, we’re hoping), but we will be back! We are eager to return to what we love most, singing for you!
Here are a few of the things we have not been able to do for our community during this time.
We have not been able to:
Ultimately, we have not been able to enrich any lives as we have not been able to sing for you since March. 2020. During this time of quarantine, we have done all we can to stay connected by meeting every week via Zoom meetings, learning and working on NEW music. We hope to be able to meet in person again by late Spring or early Summer. With this in mind, we have scheduled a new show at two venues on June 26 and 27, with more performances later in the year. We are working hard to hit the ground running as soon as we can.
However, now the future of our organization is in jeopardy.
With our normal revenue-generating activities being halted for over a year, our financial situation is grim. Being a non-profit, we are not in this ‘for the money,’ of course. But without a certain amount of revenue, we cannot keep the organization functioning through these lean times. When the day comes that we can sing again, we want to quickly get out into our community, and celebrate the fellowship so desperately lacking since last year. We want to get back into our schools, our churches, our community centers, our retirement communities. We want to, once more, make a positive difference in the lives of our citizens. But we need your help.
If you have enjoyed any of our past Silver Statesmen Chorus performances, please consider a gift to help us survive these strange times. If you regularly attend our annual concerts, we would ask you to consider a gift of at least as much as the price of two concert tickets ($30). (Of course, we would be thrilled with gifts of any size, including any larger than $30.)
