Sights & Sounds Around Las Vegas

Let the Great Geezer Getaway Guys lead you on a journey of discovery in Southern Nevada.  Leave the confines of the casinos and spend a day, or more, in the sunshine and great outdoors.

Great Geezer Getaway Guys

Off the Beaten Path of Things to Do in Las Vegas

Okay.... So, you've made it to the Entertainment Capitol of the World.... Now what?  You may not enjoy the unique allure of gambling and the snazzy shows or concerts are not to your taste or they may be outside the confines of your budget....so what else is there??

Let me suggest that the number one reason that you SHOULD HAVE come to Las Vegas was to see the Silver Statesmen Barbershop Chorus in concert.....and if your timing is off for one of our shows, then you should definitely come to visit one of our rehearsals.  Click here to see the "When & Where" of our rehearsals.

If you need to fill up the hours between our shows and our rehearsals, then let me introduce you to our Great Geezer Getaway Guys.  They are Larry Litchfield and Dave Kennedy, long time members of the chorus who have formed a lasting bond of friendship over barbershop singing, camping, and searching the neighboring locales for interesting and fun places to see and explore.

Most of these are nearby or "day trips" that will take you to some of the most historical and picturesque sites that even the locals are not generally familiar with.

Larry and Dave have their own website (http://www.geezergetaways.org)  If you click on the PHOTO GALLERY tab and scroll down, you'll find a destination flyer and some very special text to help our visiting barbershoppers.  You'll also find three separate dropdown ALBUMS, identified as LOCAL, REGIONAL, and MAJOR.  The LOCAL album contains nine nearby attractions with directions to a variety of interesting family-oriented destinations.  The first three destinations in the REGIONAL album are relatively close.  The MAJOR albums focus on the Getaway Geezers' camping adventures and some other albums you might find interesting.  Enjoy your visit!

Here is what you can find with a little time and a little effort:
